Meryl Haywood, I was born and raised on the island of Maui. I initially went to art school in Italy for classical oil painting. I specialized in portrait realism. Women and their hair is one subject I noticed always being in my paintings. This prompted me to move to Denver and pursue beauty school. I graduated from the Aveda institute of Denver. Going to beauty school was one of the best things I did for myself because I get to paint on real hair and play with color everyday. I love it so much. From Balayage, color, highlighting, women and men’s haircuts, I customize each technique to my clients unique appearance. I want to bring out my clients natural beauty they already possess. Hair has become the new canvas to create on and make people happy. You can see my work on Instagram @merylatsalonvo
Liz has been working in the hair industry for the last 27 years. Graduating from the Xenon International beauty school in 1989, she began working in Cherry Creek. Liz started at Paul Garcia’s, and gained invaluable experience there and around Cherry Creek and downtown Denver before moving to Salon Denver in 2004. While Liz was at Salon Denver, she was named one of the two top colorists in Denver in 5280 Magazine. Since being named one of the top two colorists in Denver, Liz has continued to expand her knowledge on major color lines and is often consulted for difficult color corrections. While specializing in the Framesi color line, she uses all high-end color lines and continues to take ongoing training about new products and techniques. Her expertise in colors is widely recognized and her opinions are valued by her coworkers. Partnering with Thanh Vo for expert haircuts, Liz continues to impress her clients with her work.
My career in the hair design industry started in Toronto, Canada at Bruno’s where I received a degree in teaching as well as cosmetology. From there I moved on to educating and training other hairdressers in the industry at The Hair Development Center on Fifth Avenue in New York City. I was responsible for designing small lease department salons in Dept. stores throughout the Eastern Region of the US. My job there was also promoting the center on TV shows as well as cutting, blow drying, and coloring in the center. After moving to Denver, I helped Mac at Neusteters open his first 3 contemporary salons where I taught and trained hairdressers for these salons. I have had two very successful salons in Cherry Creek and joined with a talent agency in one. My talents lie in perfecting haircutting, colors, and foiling, as well as perfection blow dries. I like to find about your career, style and personal interests, so I can give you a look that enhances this and brings out your greatest feature.
